ifa RAVE Scholarship 2027 in Germany | Fully Funded Opportunity for Cultural Professionals
Applications are now open for the ifa RAVE Scholarship 2027, a fully funded international fellowship that supports cultural professionals working with museums, collections, archives, and cultural heritage. Funded by the Alexander Rave Foundation and administered by the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen, the program enables participants from DAC-listed countries to undertake professional placements at host institutions in Germany.
The scholarship aims to strengthen international cultural exchange, foster long-term cooperation, and support the transformation of museums and exhibition spaces through innovative and inclusive approaches. Key thematic areas include cultural participation, sustainability, non-discriminatory spaces, and decolonial practices.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected fellows will receive:
- Monthly stipend of €1,500 net
- Round-trip travel costs
- Visa fee reimbursement
- Health insurance coverage
- Public transportation pass
- Language course support of up to €500
- Family allowance for accompanying spouse and children (where applicable)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be permanent residents of a DAC-listed country
- Have completed higher education or vocational training
- Work in fields such as:
- Curating
- Restoration
- Museum education/mediation
- Cultural management
- Have strong English language skills
- Secure a non-commercial host institution in Germany and jointly develop a project proposal
- Not receive another scholarship during the fellowship period
Fellowship Duration
- 3 to 6 months in Germany
- Fellowship period: February 2027 – December 2027
- Up to 10 scholarships are awarded annually.
